The Fayetteville High School Band scored a major victory Saturday at the Ozarko Marching Contest at Missouri State University in Springfield. The band ended the prelims with a first place finish in the top class and advanced to the evening finals where the top two divisions
were combined. In the finals competition, the band held on to first place and finished as Grand Champions in the Gold division of the contest.
 
The band also received the high music award in both the prelims and finals. Soloists Joe Rulli, Joseph Boyle, and Carissa Smardo earned the band the outstanding soloist award in both prelims and finals. Considering the reputation and competition at this contest, this was a major accomplishment for our band.

UPDATE: The FHS Band received top ratings from all judges at the Region One Marching Contest/Assessment last night in Springdale.
